For many people, feelings of guilt and shame become a great obstacle in personal development. We begin to dislike parts of ourselves, pick it apart and it creates a person that becomes a drag to everyone around them.
Our judgement can cloud when we see reflected in others parts we don’t like deep within ourselves. Without deeply appreciating ourselves we become a burden. We may hold feelings of inadequacy, of low value and if we allow it to sit and boil we lash out against others.
Today we’d like to share with you the “repentance mantra.” The practice of chanting is a great way to clear low-vibrational thoughts and feelings.
Only a 19-minute practice that is suggested to be done for 40 days in a row. Chanting the “repentance mantra” will help remove all lingering feelings of guilt and shame. The invocation derives from an ancient Buddhist mantra.
Follow along as instructed:
Long inhale through the nose, gather your prana, and exhale and release. Inhale lightness and exhale the noise…do this three times and begin:
“For all the evil deeds in the past created by my body, speech, and mind. From beginningless greed to hatred and delusion I now know shame and I repent them all.”
What this does over time is help you OWN your mistakes. Accept them as your doing, they are yours. Once you do this it all attachment dissolves.
Once you decide to release them, all entangled networks with others (that you blame etc) dissolves. Thus, owning fully is a vital step to healing.
You admit that you are shameful for them and you repent them.
This signals to your conscious and subconscious mind that you won’t repeat these mistakes. You are now free of them.
Listen to this for 40 days for best results.
Actively chant the 108 repetitions of the mantra along with the recording.
Recording yourself and listening to your voice also helps strengthen the reprogramming of your mind.
If you begin to cry, get angry or notice other strong emotions arise, keep going knowing that they are being released! It is important to practice until these feelings slow down. Watch it move through.
For some, you may want to continue past the 40 days. Do it for as long as you like! Come back to it anytime you notice old feelings of shame and guilt arise. Ultimately it will leave you feeling fresh and ready for bold new beginnings free from rumination of the past.
